All three options vary, and it’s really the design of your home and your budget that decides the best option for your home. As we are Daikin accredited specialists, they’ll be the biggest brand we supply and install. However, we also supply and install most other brands too.
Ducted Air Conditioning
This is suitable if you have a larger house and are looking to spend a bit more money on your air conditioning. Ducted air conditioning is where multiple ducts act as outlets for the cool air into different rooms in your house. A ducted air conditioning system consists of a part that sits outside which contains the condenser and the compressor and a part that sits inside which consists of the evaporator coils and air handler. As the ducts are located on the ceiling, this system requires space within your roof to house the indoor parts. As ducted air conditioning cools multiple rooms at once it uses a lot of energy and therefore is more expensive to run.
Single Split and Multi Split Air Conditioning
A single split air conditioning is ideal for a smaller house that doesn’t need cooling across multiple rooms. Similarly to ducted air conditioning, the compressor and condenser are located outside the house while the rest of the unit is located on the inside, however, the inside unit sits on a wall. Copper tubing runs between the outside and inside parts which cycle the refrigerant. A multi-split is the same as a single-split system except it consists of multiple wall-mounted units that sit in different parts of the house. Once again, this system is better for bigger households with a larger budget as it cools multiple rooms but is less energy efficient due to the multiple systems.
